Storyline: 3 Stars
I read this one for book club, and it was a pretty interesting read. It was not anything special if you have read some thrillers before, but there were a few aspects that were unique about this book from other thrillers.
I really don’t have a lot to say about this book because it was nothing special. I did not love it or hate it. It was just okay, a classic three stars.
Parental Guidance: 55% Recommend
This was similar to most thrillers. There was a decent amount of swearing, a few iffy scenes, and some violence. The part that decreased the rating on this one was that there were some dark and eerie themes that are not as typical with thrillers. I would give this a 55% for parental guidance.
There was swearing, including “f*ck”, but it was not as frequent as some other books. It was fairly easy to skip over the swearing.
There were a few iffy scenes that involved s*x, but it involved violence and crime, so it was a bad thing, and it was not detailed or long. It was only a paragraph or two in the whole book. There was really no romance throughout the book.
There was violence, although it was not super graphic. The most disturbing part was the dark themes, including some paranormal activity which I had not been expecting in a thriller. It was not as crazy as some other paranormal books, but it was there.

*Spoilers Ahead*
Yeah, there were problems with the book, but I expect that from almost every thriller.
Sure, was the beginning misleading and did not entirely make sense now knowing that Casey knew Len was a serial killer? Yeah, of course. Casey thought to herself that Tom might be a murder of more than his wife, and that seems like a strange thought to have when she knew that Len had been the serial killer. But, I can look past it because I expect there to be plot holes when there are big plot twists.
The paranormal stuff was strange, and an easy cop out for some of the plot. I don’t like paranormal books, so I was a little disappointed that it was included. I wish there had been better plot and explanations instead of having Len possess someone’s body. I suppose I thought it might be going there with all the ghost stories and such, but I was hoping I was wrong, until I wasn’t.
