The book is a romance, so it is not surprising that there is romantic content. There were two scenes that were intimate, about a page each, that I had to skip over because of the graphic content. The scenes seemed out of place because the rest of the book was a sweet romance, and then these two graphic scenes were placed in the book.
Violence
There is not a lot of violence, although a character does commit suicide. If that would be triggering, it does not go into detail but more so tells the reader that it happened.
Language
There were some swear words, including “f*ck” and variations of it. There were not many, but still enough to give me a bad feeling about the language.
Drugs and Alcohol
There is some casual drinking throughout the book, mostly the drinking of wine. None of the characters over-indulge “on screen” but they tell or think of stories in the past when someone did.
Diversity
There are two gay side characters that the main character knows. There are men and women of different races and backgrounds.
Demographic
The book is for young readers, although I would not give it to anyone under the age of 18 because of the scenes that need to be skipped, the side characters, and the swearing.
Storyline
I was not a huge fan of the book, mainly because it was predictable. I knew who the love interest was in the future on page 14 of the book. I may not have minded the book if it had stayed lighthearted and fun the whole time, but the addition of the two graphic scenes that I had to skip that seemed out of place and the side characters and swearing made it difficult to enjoy. I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone.
